To Veil at at a Traditional Mass is so natural, but I don't know why hesitation always crept in at the Novus Ordo in which I spent 40 years. I guess, we will never know, but as you said, Christ is just as present in the NO and the TLM, so we Veil to honor Him. I no longer think about it, it's just my default mode to have a scarf or a Veil on for Mass.
